Understanding how the technologies actually divide the work makes you a better client. You will brief more precisely, question quotations more usefully and avoid asking for things that are technically possible but practically unwise.

Questions Worth Asking

Which parts of my model will be printed and which cut, and why? How are tall elements internally supported? How is the base constructed and is the wiring accessible? Will the model travel in sections, and who assembles it on site? What is the sample approval stage and when does it happen? What does a mid-project revision cost?

The answers matter less than the manner. A studio that engages with these questions specifically, with reference to your drawings, is a studio that has thought about your project. One that answers in generalities has probably not opened the files yet, and that gap will surface later at your expense.

Durability and Handling
